Thanks for stopping by my website. I'm a writer with a passion for stories filled with, well...passion. Passion is a complex and powerful little word that can be used in so many ways.
For instance, my online dictionary describes it like this.
PASSION...—noun
- any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, such as love or hate.
- strong amorous feeling or desire; love; ardor.
- strong sexual desire; lust.
Technically correct...but a while back, I came upon a passage from a letter by Gustave Flaubert, author of the famed novel "Madame Bovary." It was written to French poet, Louise Colet (some say his wife—others his mistress) and certainly brought a smile to my lips. For not only is it a stunning example of passion...it's also a lot more entertaining than the one in my dictionary!
I will cover you with love when next I see you, with caresses, with ecstasy. I want to gorge you with all the joys of the flesh, so that you faint and die. I want you to be amazed by me, and to confess to yourself that you had never even dreamed of such transports.... When you are old, I want you to recall those few hours; I want your dry bones to quiver with joy when you think of them.— Gustave Flaubert : August 15, 1846
